Segment 2 Course
This package includes everything that the state of Michigan requires to take the next step in your driver ed journey (Segment 2):
- Three 2-Hour Classroom Instruction
Driver Ed Course Information
- A driving log must be presented to verify that the student has completed a minimum of 30 hours of driving (including 2 hours at night) with a licensed parent/guardian or a designated licensed adult driver 21 or older.
- You must bring your learner's license on the first day of class.
- This package can only be purchased after completing Segment 1 and behind-the-wheel lessons.
To enroll in Segment 2, you must have held your Level 1 Learner's License (permit) for three months or longer and completed 30 hours of driving (2 hours must have been done at night).

Former National Driving School students, please do not enroll as a new student for Segment 2. Purchase a Segment 2 package directly from your student center.

Please note, you must have held your permit for at least 90 days from the date you go to the Secretary of State.

If it is found you have scheduled a Segment 2 class too early and you do not qualify, there is a rescheduling fee of $25 to move you to the appropriate class.
