Yes, each of our instructors is licensed by the state to teach classroom and behind-the-wheel training to all age groups.
What is your refund policy?
- Before the beginning of the third-class session, 80% of the total tuition will be refunded if no behind-the-wheel instruction was given.
- After the beginning of the third-class session, no refund shall be given.
Do you charge a cancellation fee?
If you fail to show up for a behind-the-wheel lesson without canceling or rescheduling at least 24 hours in advance, you will be charged a $30 late cancellation fee.
Segment 2
Is there any driving in segment 2?
No, it's three 2-hour classroom sessions that are required by the state of Michigan.
What do I need to bring with me to segment 2?
Your logged hours and your permit from the state.
When can I start segment 2?
You must have a state permit for at least 3 months and have completed at least 30 days of service, including 2 nights of service.
How long is segment 2?
Three days, each day is 2 hours long.
Segment 1
How old do I have to be to start drivers ed?
Students must be at least 14 years and 8 months old by the first day of class.
Will I have any other students in the car with me?
There is another student with you; the State of Michigan requires 4 hours of observation. You can, however, ask to be a solo driver.
What do I need for the first day of segment 1?
Your birth certificate and a notebook, and any days you won't be able to drive.
What happens after I complete the class?
Your first step is to visit the Secretary of State with your certificate of completion and other required documents to obtain your driver's permit.
What happens if I miss a class?
The student may miss class only due to illness or emergency, provided proof is presented to the instructor. The student is required to make up the same class session missed (e.g., if the student missed day 5, they must attend day 5 of the next available segment of the course).
Do I need a permit to start classed?
No permit is required to take the driver's ed class. The student must be 14 and 8 months old by the first day of class.
